Southampton, Bermuda (October 29, 2021) — The 2021 Butterfield Bermuda Championship is at the midpoint after the field finished off the first round and played the second round Saturday at Port Royal Golf Course, Southampton. 75 players made the cut at even par to continue to the weekend.
One for the Record Books
Taylor Pendrith set a new tournament and course record with a 10-under 61 today to hold a one stroke lead entering the weekend. The previous record of 62 was held by Scottie Scheffler and Brendon Todd, both in 2019.
Bermuda’s own Camiko Smith put his name in the record book at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. Smith, starting his second round on Hole #10, posted a 29 (-6) on the back nine holes, tying the tournament record for lowest nine-hole score with Doc Redman and Scheffler for the back nine, and Todd and Rob Oppenheim, who both shot 29 on the front nine.
Halfway to the Trophy
Taylor Pendrith (70-61) at -11 holds a one stroke margin over Patrick Rodgers (68-64), who finished the second round at -10. Vincent Whaley (66-67) is two shots back at -9, while Danny Lee (67-67) and David Skinns (67-67) are three strokes back at -8.

Michael Sims tied with Camiko Smith as the top Bermudians in the field, shooting +8, 150. Amateur Damian Palanyandi ended at +10, 152 while fellow countryman Chaka DeSilva was at +14, 156. Brian Morris was at +39, 181.
Tickets are Sold Out, No Tickets Available at the Gate
The tournament is officially sold out. All spectators, regardless of age, must have a ticket to access the grounds of Port Royal Golf Course. There are no tickets sold at the gate.

The public is reminded that the Butterfield Bermuda Championship is operating as a SafeKey event. All spectators 2 years of age and older should be prepared to provide proof of SafeKey and a valid government-issued ID for entry. To reduce wait time and queues, have both the SafeKey, either printed or open on a mobile device, and identification in hand. It is the responsibility of spectators to ensure they have a valid SafeKey downloaded or printed before arrival. Clear Bag Policy in Effect
Certain items are restricted at PGA TOUR events, such as large bags and backpacks. Bags and purses must be smaller than 6” x 6”. Clear bags measuring 12” x 6” x 12” or less will be permitted. Please note, the tournament does not provide a “bag check” facility so plan accordingly.
